Here is some information about each ingredient included in our radiation skin repair crème:

Lavender Hydrosol
True floral water created as a natural product of essential oil distillation. Lavender Hydrosol is mildly antiseptic with calming, relaxing, and skin soothing capabilities. Traditionally used as a first aid for burns, sunburn, stings, and muscular aches. It has antiseptic, antispasmodic, nervine and sedative properties.

Rose Hydrosol
Also known as rosewater, it is a true floral water created as a natural product of essential oil distillation. Rose hydrosol is used in Ayurvedic medicine and is considered an exceptional coolant for burns and hot sores. It is recommended for scalds and inflammatory skin conditions. Throughout history, Rosewater has been used in religious ceremonies, as well as for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Witch Hazel Hydrosol
True witch hazel hydrosol is considered the number one hydrosol recommended for radiation treatments. This soothing botanical extract is obtained from steam distillation and bears no resemblance to the witch hazel/alcohol concoctions available in your local grocery or drug store. Witch Hazel was first discovered by Native Americans for its therapeutic applications of cleansing, cooling, soothing and healing. Properties include soothing astringent, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.

Aloe Vera Juice
This is the most recommended natural botanical for radiation burns. Research has proven that Aloe Vera accelerates basal keratinocyte growth which is significant for major thermal injuries. Keratinocyte is the building block of the epidermis (skin) while basal cells form the bottom layer of the epidermis. We make our own aloe vera juice using distilled water and 200x biologically active aloe vera powder concentrate.

Shea Butter
Unrefined golden Shea Butter has been used for centuries in Africa to keep skin healthy. It is recognized as a burn treatment for its soothing, moisturizing, protecting, healing and pain relief properties due to the large amounts of un-saponifiable fats, vitamins and other active elements. Shea butter is thought to help with cell regeneration and capillary circulation. We use the best unrefined shea butter obtained from a woman’s cooperative in Ghana.

Calendula Infused Oil
Calendula Flowers have historically been considered a natural antiseptic and beneficial for wound healing, reducing inflammation and fighting infection. Calendula is approved in Germany for use in treating poorly healing wounds.

Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil
We use cold pressed organic Rose Hip Seed oil well known for Vitamin C, also contains transretinoic acid - a natural form of Vitamin A which is clinically proven to heal and repair damaged skin areas. Traditionally used for accelerated skin repair, anti aging, soothing skin, and reducing appearance of scars and burns associated with radiation therapy.

Cucumber Extract
Cucumber has long been used as a folk remedy for soothing and cooling skin burns. During my research on the benefits of cucumber, I discovered that many of the surviving victims of Hiroshima used cucumber juice on their burns.

Hydrolyzed Oats
Oats are known for their skin soothing benefits and are used for many skin conditions. Oats help to ease itching associated with burns and retains badly needed moisture.

Botanical Herbal Complex
This botanical blend contains Green Tea, Olive Leaf Extract, Gingko Biloba Extract, Rooibos Extract and White Tea which have high levels of phytochemicals known as polyphenols that function as free radical scavengers to inhibit oxidation that can be damaging to skin cells. These botanical extracts are also known to exhibit anti-inflammatory qualities.

Allantoin
A botanical extract derived from comfrey and is used for its healing, soothing and anti-irritating properties. Many of the finer skin care products contain Allantoin. Attributed to help heal wounds and skin irritations and stimulates growth of healthy tissue.

Zinc Oxide
Zinc is a natural protective and healing mineral. It has mild astringent and antiseptic properties and is used topically for skin conditions, irritations and wound healing.

Synergy Blend of Essential Oils
This blend of essential oils was formulated by a certified integrative aromatherapy practitioner and is an integral part of our overall formula. In many European countries, pure essential oils are recognized for their therapeutic healing botanical properties. Essential Oils are derived though a steam distillation process of herbs, flowers, barks, roots and berries.

• Lavender Essential Oil - The number one recommended aromatherapy treatment for burns with exceptional skin soothing and healing properties. We use the finest high altitude Bulgarian Lavender Essential oil available. Beneficial for anxiety, burns, depression, itching, scars, sores and stress.
• Blue Chamomile - Also known as german chamomile, this costly precious essential oil is one of the best essential oils recommended for sensitive or inflamed skin. I chose to add Blue Chamomile to the synergy blend for it’s soothing analgesic, anti inflammatory, bactericidal, and nervine properties. Traditionally used as a muscle relaxant, soothing agent, stress reliever, skin conditioner or for skin aliments such as abscesses, boils, cuts, sores and wounds.
• Sea BuckThorn Berry - This advanced skin protector has exceptional vitamin and mineral nutrients. Sea Buckthorn Berry has anti-inflammatory and restorative properties promoting faster natural healing from radiation burns.
• Carrot Seed - Considered a superb skin-nourishing essential oil, carrot seed is traditionally used to balance, heal and restore dry, aged or sun damaged skin. Considered to help to restore elasticity to the skin and reduce toxin build-ups. This is another essential oil used in finer skin care products.
• Frankincense - One of the more ancient essential oils, Frankincense has been used historically for centuries to treat skin conditions including burns, scars and stretch marks as well as conditions such as anxiety and stress.
• Myrrh - Oftentimes blended with frankincense for ancient medical formulations, myrrh has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and emollient properties recommended for aging or damaged skin.

Vitamins
We incorporate a blend of skin nurturing vitamins in abundant amounts to the crème as follows:

• Vitamin E - A potent natural antioxidant that protects your skin from damages by reactive oxygen radicals, has moisturizing & anti aging effect by improving skin surface. Soothing & anti inflammatory properties.
• Vitamin C Ester - Also known as ascorbyl palmitate, it is considered a potent skin protector from oxidative damages caused by sun rays or radiation treatments. Also valued for improving skin elasticity, enhanced collagen production, anti-inflammatory & soothing effects and the reduction of hyper pigmentation including age spots. You find this ingredient in more costly anti aging products.
