To Make:

I find it is easiest to make the batch in the evening so it can steep overnight. When I receive orders I make it fresh this way.

Mix herbs thoroughly and place 4.3 oz of herb blend into a large stainless steel pot with 1 gallon of room temperature distilled water. Place lid on pot and allow herbs to soak with no heat for 1 hour. Keeping covered, bring to a full rolling boil for 10 minutes. Turn off pot, keep covered and let steep overnight (8 hours minimum and don't worry if you sleep late).

In the morning, reheat to barely a boil, then strain using a stainless steel fine mesh strainer and add just enough fresh distilled water to make a full gallon again. (evaporation occurs during boiling) Finish by bottling tea into sterilized bottles (preferably amber or cobalt blue to protect from sunlight). Because some of the herbs are powdered there will be a sediment in the bottles, this is normal. After the bottles cool down, tighten the caps. Store bottles in a cool dark place. You can also freeze them. This herbal tea blend contains no preservatives so if you see any signs of mold discard immediately. If in doubt - throw it out!

For my own consumption I just let it cool down completely and then strain the tea into a gallon glass container and keep covered in my refrigerator.

To Use:

I drink 1 ounce in the morning on an empty stomach and then 1 ounce again at bedtime. Shake the tea up to redistribute the sediment before drinking. Some like it cold while others like to mix it with hot water and sip warm. Either way is just fine. If you want, you can even sweeten it with some raw wild flower honey. Just never ever microwave it. Why you may ask? Well, there is some belief that microwave cooking or heating changes the molecular structure of food and herbs thus rendering them void of any nutritional value. I personally don't know this for sure, but why take any chances. I only use my microwave for popcorn and melting glycerin soaps.
